Below is the status update on Facebook that started it all! The response was overwhelming. The limited amount of people in my friends list, versus the amount of people who responded was incredible. The varied and creative responses formed the catalyst for this website & the idea of creating a book with the responses included.

Hey guys I was lucky enough to spend 10 days in absolute silence and during those 10 days I started thinking about life and it’s purpose but there is one thing that I cannot understand. If anyone want to share their thought’s I’d appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
I understand that the purpose of life is pure happiness through liberation (from misery and its shackles) plus love and compassion towards other living creatures. But what I am trying to understand is the purpose of humankind. What is the purpose of our (human’s) ultimate existence? Believers in re-incarnation will tell me it’s to create good karma for the next life. But there will be a next life and then a next life and then a next life and so on. But what is the purpose of this continuing re-incarnation of life? Believers of paradise will tell me it’s to what is necessary to be accepted into paradise after death. But then what? Just sit around in paradise? What is the purpose of our existence then? Is there one? Believers in evolution can’t really justify a purpose (correct me if I’m wrong)…….there really is no purpose, we just evolved due to a collection of events happening in the perfect climate to sustain life. Due to the fact that it was a random event justifies that there was no purpose to life.
So the question remains, what is the purpose of our ultimate existence? Is there one?

Some of you may be thinking I should just be happy and enjoy this life I’ve been given (which I am) and not bother with such questions. But it has to be asked so any insight you’d like to share would be very helpful. Thanks again.
