A lot of people might be asking themselves, ‘who does this guy think he is? Not even the most influential thinkers of all-time could not answer this question, what makes him think he can?’ So let me tell you a little story. When I was traveling through Mexico in 2010, I was sitting on a bus & started I think, after traveling for my entire life, having all the time in the world & generally very lucky & privileged. But there has to be more?!?! There has to be! I am living the life that most people envy but why do I feel like I’m not fulfilling my life purpose? What is my life purpose?
Why are we here?
I posed this question to the Facebook community in December 2012. Wow! What a response! A simple question that was bugging me, cause a sensation in this community. Each with a different background of experiences to draw on. Each with a different view on an age-old question. But was one more right than the other? Who are we to judge? Each persons view was completely justified in their minds. And you know what, it’s liberating to see these people so open & forward with their views, even if it is a little quirky and difficult for them to face their reason for being. But that’s what makes us all unique. We are all individuals, but we are all together in this world. We are all different, but that is what makes life interesting.
People were approaching me with ideas for what to do with this collection of views. One of the ideas was to create a book with people’s responses to the question ‘Why are we here?’ So others can enjoy it like I had.
So this website is an avenue for you to express your own personal view so that I can hopefully one day share this individual view with the world so others can enjoy it. Be true to yourself and the answer with come.
It’s understanding our differences that will ultimately bring us together.
And the world always needs a little bit more understanding……..
